Modern RVs are very comfortable – they have a bathroom, toilet, kitchen, air conditioning and heating, a garage for bicycles and other goodies, are equipped with a large number of cabinets and drawers, and allow folding and unfolding sofas or tables. What kind of camper for a family will be most suitable? It is known that if you are interested in an RV for a family of 5, you will not rent a vehicle designed for 4 people. But there is no simple answer to the above question, because every family has slightly different needs and requirements. For example, if someone is a tall, well-built man, he may need a longer and wider bed. And what needs does your family have? What level of comfort do you need? Give us a call and tell us about it, and we will advise you on which camper and accessories to choose.

Beds for children in an RV

Wondering, How do children sleep in an RV? Generally, RVs have a main “bedroom” in the rear of the vehicle and a bed above the cab/dayroom area. In our experience, most parents of toddlers choose vehicles with a large bed in the back of the vehicle, where children sleep together with their parents. In such a bed you can also comfortably breastfeed your infant and put him to sleep. The beds in the camper are secured with a net to protect the child from falling out.

See what the campers’ bed layouts. Depending on the model, the rear bedroom in the camper has:

queen’s bed, or big bed

two separate beds, which can be combined into one huge one, using a special connector (in practice, even the whole family can sleep on such a huge bed, which gains dimensions of about 2 x 2 m)

In addition to a bedroom in the rear of the vehicle, campers also usually have a drop-down double bed over the cab or an alcove with a large bed. In some models, an additional folding bed is also in the living room.

These developments also make RVs ideal for large families. You can choose between campers that have 2 or 3 beds. You can find detailed descriptions of the bedrooms in each of our models in the descriptions of the individual vehicles under the tab campervans for rent. We will be happy to advise you on the optimal bed layout for your family and provide detailed bed dimensions.

Privacy in an RV – traveling with children

Some campers have sliding doors from the bedroom, so you can provide more privacy. The ability to close the door also comes in handy when you want to put the kids to bed early and be able to talk freely. Remember, do not sleep in beds or walk around the RV while driving. Don’t overdo the amount of clothes, almost every campsite has laundry and drying facilities. It is very practical to pack in large Ikea-type bags – they can be folded up after unpacking and take up less space in storage compartments than suitcases. It is most convenient to drive the camper up to the house and immediately deploy things in the right places. You can leave your car in our parking lot. Put the baby bathtub, stroller or sports equipment in what is known as the “baby bath”. garage, or large trunk in an RV. Distribute smaller items in lockers, cabinets and drawers in the living area. Remember while driving, all objects must be in closed storage compartments; in the event of sudden braking, an object flying through the camper’s interior can pose a real danger to passengers.

Mom, Dad! To the bathroom!

If you’ve been camping in a tent with a child, it has just rained, and the tents were set up so densely that every step you took risked getting tangled in the lines and catching a hare, you know very well how troublesome it can be to go to the bathroom where you just ran out of paper and ran out of soap. When you choose sleeping in an RV, all such problems do not exist. Our Campers have bathrooms with toilets, which you and your child can use at any time just like at home. You can also use the toilet in the RV during a stopover on the road. With your own bathroom available at all times, it is also much easier to take care of your child’s hygiene and even carry out…

Bathing a baby in an RV

Traveling in an RV with a small child offers many amenities that you won’t find in a tent. A quiet room and a bathtub with warm water are essential if you want to bathe an infant. In an RV – no problem. You can even place the tub on the dining room table and bathe your baby there comfortably. The campers have heating, so you can bathe your toddler without worrying about catching a cold even on colder days.

Camper seat – what kind of carriage for children in an RV?

Children under the age of 12 or with a height of less than 150 centimeters must be transported in the RV in child safety seats appropriate to their age and weight, according to safety standards. In the event of sudden braking or an accident, the seat will hold the child in a stable position, minimizing the risk of injury.

The ways to fix car seats in an RV are as follows:

  • Belt-fastened seats on the rear bench seats – rearward-facing (highest level of safety)
  • Belt-fastened seats on rear bench seats – forward facing

All rear bench seats with homologation have seat belts and allow the fastening of child seats.

  • Isofix in an RV car seats can be mounted with Isofix mounts on the rear couches (solution available on selected models of campervans in our rental)
  • Seat strapped on the passenger seat, rearward facing – in this case, it is possible to disable the passenger airbag on selected camper models.

When going on an RV trip with children, you can take the car seats you use every day, or you can rent car seats with your preferred restraint system (there are many rental companies on the market). We provide the possibility of fitting seats in our campers. Want to talk about how to securely attach car seats to RVs and which system to choose?
